BARRETT, John Daniel
First Class, light vehicle driver, age 20. Died November 12, 1970 when the truck he was driving hit a buried road mine on rte. 518, West of Quang Ngai. The road had been swept for mines earlier in the day. The truck was headed to resupply FSB Hill 4-11.

BERTAGNA, Lawrence Joseph
SGT, tactical communications chief, age 25. Died July 27, 1969 during a night-time rocket attack on Hill 4-11, West of Quang Ngai Airfield.

BUTZ, Clair Bernard
First Class, chemical weapons specialist, age 31. Died January 6, 1970 due to the accidental detonation of a hand grenade on Hill 4-11, West of Quang Ngai Airfield.

FELKAMP, Ronald Allen
First Class, light vehicle driver, age 20. Died October 21, 1970 when the truck he was driving hit a buried mine on the access road to Hill 4-11. The blast created a crater that was 4’ deep and 7’ wide. The road had been swept for mines earlier in the day. See MORENO.

GUIDRY, Michael James
4thClass, vehicle mechanic, age 20. Died August 21, 1971 when he was mistaken for the enemy during a night-time ambush Northwest of Quang Ngai Airfield.

HILL, Frank Allen III
Captain, West Point graduate, battalion intelligence officer, age 23. Died August 3, 1968 during a fire fight while on patrol with Charlie Company Northwest of Quang Ngai Airfield. For his actions, CPT. Hill was awarded the Silver Star for Valor. Details in AWARDS Section.

Pvt. First Class, cook, age 19. Died March 25, 1970 from suicide.

KOZIK, Raymond Jim
SGT, tactical communications chief, age 21. Died January 20, 1969 from wounds received after LZ Cork was hit with in-coming rockets, Southeast of Ha Thanh Airfield.

KRUSE, James Arthur
First Class, medic with Delta Company, age 20. Died June 10, 1969 when the company came under an intense grenade attack while in a night defensive position, Southeast of Duc Pho.

MACKEY, Robert Eugene
4th Class, medic with Alpha Company, age 20. Died September 7, 1968 during an intense fire fight Northwest of Quang Ngai Airfield. For his actions, Spec. 4thClass Mackey was awarded a Silver Star, posthumously. Details in AWARDS Section.

Spec. 4th Class, supply clerk, age 20. Died March 19, 1969 from wounds received during a suspected rocket attack. Location unknown.

MORENO, Angel Jose

SGT, age 31. Died November 22, 1970 when a booby-trapped mortar round detonated, Northwest of Quang Ngai Airfield.

WEST, Stanely Eugene
4thClass, vehicle mechanic assigned to Delta Battery, age 21. Died September 24, 1968 when the 2 ½ ton truck his was driving hit a buried road mine in the vicinity of Ha Thanh. He was on a resupply mission to Hill 4-11.
