Specialist Fourth Class Leo James Broussard, Jr. was from New Orleans, LA. His tour in Vietnam started on January 24, 1969. He was assigned to Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 11th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division. On September 12, 1969, he was walking point for his platoon out in the field when he was killed in action. He was hit by a grenade and small arms fire.
