Before we begin any work, we ensure you are completely relaxed. We apply a local anesthetic to thoroughly numb the tooth and the surrounding area. You will feel a deep sense of numbness, ensuring that the entire treatment is completely comfortable and virtually pain-free.
Once you are fully comfortable, Dr. Hudson Vuong will carefully remove the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth. Because composite resin bonds so beautifully to natural enamel, we are able to use a conservative approach—meaning we preserve as much of your healthy, natural tooth structure as possible.
To ensure your filling is completely invisible, we select a composite resin shade that matches the exact color, translucent qualities, and tone of your surrounding teeth. No one will ever notice you had a cavity repaired.
The tooth-colored resin is applied in precise layers directly into the clean tooth structure. A specialized, safe ultraviolet light is then directed onto the material for a few seconds. This light instantly cures and hardens the resin, bonding it securely to your tooth.
